The Godfrey Lappage Team was asked by Mr Ian Grange of Bonians Limited to work with Spiral Freezer specialists Heinen of Germany to create the perfect system for their popular sausage business. Bonians Limited are one of the top sausage manufacturers in the UK serving not only the UK but also parts of Europe with their large range of products. Mr Grange and Mark Lappage travelled to Rome Italy to check these Spiral Freezers in action in similar production factories. The project team of Godfrey Lappage worked very closely with Mr Grange and the Heinen sales team to deliver and install the Spiral Freezer on time. Much detailed planning was required due to the nature of the install. The roof of the building had to be removed as well as part of the metal structure, so the crane was able to lift and lower the spiral freezer in place. The roof and metal structure was then re-assembled and put back into place. Once in place the Godfrey Lappage team run new interconnecting pipework and cables to the new Refrigeration Pack unit with a large remote condenser. This pack unit and condenser were also craned onto the other roof area and into position with delicate care and attention by all who were involved.

For the refrigeration compressor pack and remote-condenser, Godfrey Lappage worked closely with RC Scutts who designed and created the perfect refrigeration solution for the Heinen Spiral Freezer. The compressor pack was fitted with twin screw compressors each offering 50.1kw of cooling duty therefore supplying the spiral freezer with 100.2kw of duty. We were also asked by Mr Grange to provide him with a cost-effective and energy efficient solution for a new walk-in freezer and preparation area. Godfrey Lappage’s sales team spoke with David and Sam from RC Scutts to create a LT/HT Compressor Pack Unit to serve both temperature ranges. A top of the range twin temperature VSD inverter drive compressor pack unit was manufactured and installed to create the perfect solution for Mr Grange and his team. Dual discharge evaporators were also installed to create the perfect working environment within Bonians preparation area.
